As of 8.45am, 8 Oct 1997, Motorcycle International ceased to exist. Its publisher cited "the need to concentrate on its lifestyle portfolio meaning that we cannot consider the investment levels necessary to maintain the magazine in an extremely competitive market". MCI editor Roger Willis, having just completed a three-page Xmas special Fettler, commented: "Oh bollocks..."
